AMAVI Invests in Amplr to Power the Connected Buildings of Tomorrow

    • Amplr Visual 1
      • AMAVI is pleased to announce its investment in Amplr, a Belgian connectivity platform delivering enterprise-grade internet and network management services to multi-site businesses. This investment reflects our conviction that reliable, intelligent connectivity is the backbone of every modern real estate operation — and that the companies enabling it represent a compelling investment opportunity at the intersection of technology, real estate, and private equity.

      • Why Connectivity, and Why Now?

The digitization of buildings is accelerating. From smart thermostats and contactless check-ins to IoT-powered energy management and real-time POS systems, every modern building depends on seamless, always-on connectivity. In fact, connectivity is rapidly becoming as essential a utility as electricity and water — no building can function without it, yet for most multi-site operators — whether in hospitality, retail, coworking, or residential — managing internet and Wi-Fi infrastructure across dozens or hundreds of locations remains fragmented, reactive, and frustrating.

This is exactly the problem Amplr solves.

Amplr: Seamless Connectivity as a Service

Founded in 2021 by Maarten Van Hoecke and Joachim Van Hove near Ghent, Amplr has built a vendor-agnostic, end-to-end connectivity platform that combines high-speed internet, failover protection, in-building network hardware, and centralized cloud monitoring through its proprietary dashboard, amplr.cloud.

Today, Amplr manages close to 1,000 locations across 7 countries, serving a diverse and growing client base — from restaurant chains like Panos and Hawaiian Poké Bowl, to premium retailers like Neuhaus and Comme Chez Nous, to coworking operators like Watt Factory and cohousing platforms like Coloc Housing. What they all share is a need for reliable, multi-site connectivity managed from a single pane of glass.

        What Makes Amplr Different?

Vendor-agnostic management platform — Amplr sits above all major access technologies and hardware vendors, allowing clients to manage fiber, wireless backup, and in-building networks through a single interface. No vendor lock-in, no complexity.

Location-driven, highly sticky revenue model — Revenue scales with the number of customer locations rather than individual users. As clients expand to new sites, Amplr expands with them — resulting in very low churn and strong net revenue retention.

Operational excellence through automation — Amplr's platform automates provisioning, monitoring, and incident detection, enabling a lean operating model where a small team proactively manages hundreds of locations.

A Natural Extension of AMAVI's Strategy

AMAVI Capital was founded on the belief that the most compelling investment opportunities within the built world lie at the intersections of real estate, technology, and private equity.

Amplr fits squarely within this thesis — and more specifically within the "tech sleeve" of our Real Estate Operating Platform (REOP) strategy. Multi-location operators across hospitality, retail, coworking, and residential cannot function efficiently without reliable network infrastructure. Amplr delivers the connectivity layer that makes these operators work.

Where our REOP investments build and scale tech-enabled operators in niche real estate sectors, Amplr is the enabling infrastructure that underpins their digital operations — from POS systems and guest Wi-Fi to smart building management and IoT devices.

Connectivity is not new territory for AMAVI. Through our earlier investment in Allicon, a Swedish company that develops and operates in-building fiber networks and operator-neutral 5G indoor solutions for large properties, we gained deep familiarity with the connectivity value chain and the critical role it plays in future-proofing buildings. While Allicon and Amplr operate with different business models and serve different segments — Allicon focusing on physical fiber infrastructure for large Nordic properties, Amplr on managed connectivity services for multi-site SME operators — they share the same fundamental conviction: that connectivity infrastructure is becoming as essential to a building's value as its physical structure. Together, they give AMAVI a unique vantage point across the full connectivity landscape in real estate.

This investment also illustrates a powerful flywheel effect at the heart of AMAVI's strategy. As we invest in operating platforms across hospitality, outdoor leisure, wellness, and other real estate niches, each of these operators needs best-in-class connectivity to run their locations. That creates a natural pipeline for companies like Amplr — and in turn, Amplr's growing footprint across multi-site operators opens doors to new verticals and geographies. The more AMAVI scales its ecosystem of REOPs, the stronger the demand signal for the technology companies that support them — and vice versa. It's not just a portfolio of investments; it's an ecosystem where portfolio companies scale together.

The Growth Plan: Organic Scale and Targeted M&A

Amplr's growth strategy is built around three pillars:

        1. Scaling through direct sales and partnerships — Growth is driven by onboarding new locations from both existing and new customers, increasingly complemented by a partner-led go-to-market. Key clients are already planning significant multi-site rollouts, illustrating the built-in expansion runway within the existing client base.

        2. Margin expansion via Connectivity-as-a-Service (CaaS) — Amplr is shifting from one-off hardware sales to a recurring model where hardware is provided as a service. This increases revenue predictability, reduces churn risk, and strengthens the long-term customer relationship.

        3. Targeted M&A — The connectivity services market is highly fragmented, with many sub-scale operators lacking software, automation, and cross-selling capabilities. A pipeline of acquisition targets has already been identified, offering a clear opportunity to execute a buy-and-build strategy by migrating acquired customers onto Amplr's platform and realizing operational and margin synergies.

        This Is Just the Beginning

Our investment in Amplr reinforces our commitment to building platforms where technology, real estate, and operational excellence converge. With a scalable platform, a sticky and diversified customer base, and clear organic and inorganic growth levers, Amplr is uniquely positioned to become the connectivity platform of choice for multi-site real estate operators across Europe.

As we continue to build out our portfolio of tech-enabled operators and the technology companies that support them, one thing remains clear: AMAVI is dedicated to driving innovation and building the next generation of real estate platforms.
